Wandavision Pilot Script Review

Script Title: WandaVision “Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience” Writer: Jac Schaeffer Script Review: The pilot episode of “Wandavision” is a continuation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, intertwining a sitcom format and a psychological drama, with Wanda Maximoff as the central character. In this episode, she cooks dinner for her husband and his boss, which aligns with 1950s sitcom conventions.   Short Film Review 2   Film Title: DON’T LOOK AWAY Writer: Christopher Cox Director: Christopher Cox Link/URL: https://youtu.be/4f3hG-5grlw?si=Sj5eBajk6AgCXyWc Film Review: The short horror film “DON’T LOOK AWAY” follows a teenage girl who notices a mysterious figure in her garden staring at her. When she tells her father, he only responds by saying “Don’t look away.” This acts as the catalyst to locking the story into a chilling premise, that if she looks away, the figure gets closer. Therefore, there is an external conflict with the supernatural entity, and an internal conflict with her emotions. This film does this extremely well, showing ...

"STALLED " Short Film Review

Film Title: STALLED Writer: Matt Black Director: Matt Black Link/URL:  https://youtu.be/7mSH86O2qzA?si=r_gjVeU6muNlMHqk   Film Review: In this short film [1] , we follow the actor as they go through a psychological drama. The central conflict is between him and the other versions of himself created in parallel paradox within a public restroom. Matt Black [2]  chose to use a linear narrative but often lacks moments of linearity to create a focal point of the paradoxical versions of the actor. Short films live or die by pacing. "STALLED" does well by not lingering unnecessarily and because of spatial confinement, pacing is key to keep the audience engaged. The film also uses   time compression / real   time ,   so we feel the urgency as if we are there with the character. There are moments where a beat lags just a bit but overall, the sense of “I want to know how this ends” keeps you watching. The actor’s goal is to get out and survive from this room, an...
